Some songs are like time capsules. Even years later, when they play, you can still smell the sea.
These ten songs are currently blaring from car windows across Italy, pouring out of beach speakers and playing on a continuous loop in bar kitchens. Anyone driving through Italy this summer won’t be able to avoid them – and, as a rule, won’t want to either. The 2026 summer hits from Italy – here are the contenders.

1. „Ossessione“ – Samurai Jay & Vito Salamanca
A heavy beat, a hook that sticks in your mind after just two seconds. „Ossessione“ sounds like the late night and overthinking – and yet it’s still blaring out of every speaker during the day.
It’s midday and the heat is on; a barman is wiping down the bar, and the radio’s on. It’s been playing the same track for weeks. There’s now a Spanish version too – which explains why the song just won’t stop playing, even in Ibiza.

More Information2. „La testa gira“ – Fred De Palma, Anitta & Emis Killa
A reggaeton beat, Spanish influences, a chorus that feels familiar even on first listen. Danceable, light-hearted, perfect for that moment when the sun is setting.
An evening stroll along the seafront, the warm air. ‘La testa gira’ – ‘my head’s spinning’ – captures the essence of this very moment: a touch of dizziness, somewhere between exhaustion and euphoria. Fred De Palma knows the formula. With Anitta and Emis Killa, it works particularly well this time.

3. „Al mio paese“ – Serena Brancale, Levante & DELIA
Not a song about homesickness – more a cry of joy with a touch of homesickness. Up-tempo, sung in three-part harmony, with funk and soul influences, an ‘Inno solare’ that celebrates southern Italy. You don’t need to understand the lyrics to know what it’s about.
A train is travelling south, packed to the rafters, on a Friday evening in July. Suitcases are stowed in the overhead racks; some people are eating tramezzini, others are asleep. „Al mio paese“ is the anthem of the fuorisede – city dwellers who head home for the summer. Serena Brancale brings a taste of Apulia, Levante and DELIA a taste of Sicily. Together, it sounds like a homecoming.

Quirky, catchy, slightly ironic. Synthpop with a touch of humour that immediately catches your ear on the radio – and sticks in your head afterwards. It’s been in the Italian radio charts for weeks.
Originally an entry in the Sanremo Music Festival, now the most persistent earworm of the summer. ‘Che fastidio!’ – What a nuisance – is that song you find stuck in your head in the morning without knowing why. Ditonellapiaga puts into words things you’d never have phrased quite like that yourself.

More Information5. „Per sempre sì“ – Sal Da Vinci
A ballad in the traditional Neapolitan style: warm, melodious, with a voice that carries. No beat, no guest artist, no gimmick. Simply a very good song – and proof that the Eurovision Song Contest also has a winner who has won people’s hearts.
A wedding somewhere in Campania, a long table, fairy lights, Uncle’s dancing. It doesn’t melt at 34 degrees.

8. „Buon Vento“ – Jovanotti & Alfa
Acoustic, expansive, airy. A track that radiates optimism – perfect for a new beginning. Jovanotti has been doing this for thirty years; Alfa adds a younger voice to the mix. Together, it sounds refreshingly different.
