"The decree granting Italian citizenship has been issued". We are talking about Khaby Lame (22), the most successful TikToker in Italy and the whole world.

In case you've never heard of him, Khaby Lame is a social media dream come true. When the pandemic hits, he loses his factory job. He moves back to his old childhood home with his parents in Chivasso (Piedmont) and signs up for TikTok out of boredom.
One year later he has more than million (!!!) followers. Meanwhile, Khaby Lame is the most successful TikToker in the world. No man or woman is currently better.

A few days ago, the Italian self-made comedian replaced US superstar Charlie D'Amelio on the number 1 throne. She has only 142.8 million fans on TikTok, Khaby 144.3 million. And the trend is still upwards.

Khaby Lame feels Italian, knows no other home than Italy, but he does not have an Italian passport. His parents fled with him from Senegal when he was still a baby.
"To TikTok I am the king, to my country still the stranger." On Friday, Khaby had criticised Lame in an interview with "La Repubblica":

"There are limits when you don't have citizenship," he said in the interview: "For example, I can't just go to the United States, although I would like to go there. But only now that I've become famous do they think about my citizenship, before that nobody cared."
It is unfair that people who behave correctly and grow up with Italian culture for years do not have the right to citizenship. He is not only speaking for himself.
Carlo Sibilia, Secretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior, did not leave this uncommented. Via Twitter he announced:
