The Italian daily newspaper "Corriere della Sera" reports in its Sunday edition that the couple was walking on a path towards the rock formation Altar Knotto (Veneto). At a vantage point, the woman wanted to take photos of the landscape. The mobile phone slipped out of her hand.
The couple had documented their hike on social media, posting photos of what appeared to be a dream day in the mountains.

When the mountain rescue team arrived on the scene, they found the young woman in a state of shock. The mountain rescuers had to abseil down from a helicopter to retrieve the body. The police have started an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
