Die Familie herrschte fast 400 Jahre lang \u00fcber Mantua und Umgebung. Der Palazzo Ducale ist nicht nur ein Palast, sondern eine Stadt in der Stadt \u2013 mit etwa 1.000 R\u00e4umen und 35.000 qm Fl\u00e4che. H\u00f6hepunkt: die von Andrea Mantegn mit Fresken bemalte \u201eKammer der Eheleute\u201c im dazugeh\u00f6rigen Castello di San Giorgio. Wer hier steht, verliert das Gef\u00fchl f\u00fcr Raum und Perspektive \u2013 und f\u00fcr die Zeit sowieso.
