BEACH VILLA - Oligarch rips off Andrea Pirlo

Even football legends have dreams. Andrea Pirlo (43) always wanted a beach house in Forte dei Marmi. The Italian sports star paid half a million for the object of his dreams. Now this: The Tuscan villa has been confiscated. The Russians...

As the "Corriere del Sera" reports, the previous owner of the villa is said to be an acquaintance of Russian President Vladimir Putin (69). And that's not all:

The villa seller is said to have been convicted in an earlier trial for non-payment of bail - two of his palaces were therefore confiscated as a precaution. One of them is the dream home of the 2006 world champion (more on Andrea Pirlo below).

One of the most expensive holiday resorts in Italy: Forte dei Marmi in Tuscany

Forte dei Marmi is one of Italy's luxury resorts. Stars, sports legends, international millionaires and billionaires live in the "Roma Imperiale" district. Former champion kicker and current Turkish champion coach Andrea Pirlo (estimated fortune 30 million euros) for now - and not for the time being - at least not at home.

Pirlo is said to have already paid 500,000 euros. A purchase price of 2.6 million euros is said to have been agreed. But the Italian media doubt whether the deal will still go through.

The oligarch's lawyers have announced an appeal in the civil case in question. A decision on the appeal is to be made in the course of the summer. But even then, a sale seems questionable, as La Nazione reports:

The Russian is said to have bought the palace only two years ago. After Russia's attack on Ukraine, a sale is said to have been initiated very quickly.

It is not (yet) known which oligarch is involved.

    This is Andrea Pirlo

    >>> former legendary Italian football player and current football coach

From 2002 to 2015, Pirlo was a midfielder in the national team squad. In 2006, as a playmaker, it made a decisive contribution to the World Cup title. Pirlo played a total of 116 games for Italy, scoring 13 goals.

Pirlo won the Italian championship and the Champions League several times with AC Milan. He won the Italian title again with Juventus Turin. He finished his playing career with New York City FC in 2017.

In 2019 he began his official training as a football coach, and in 2020 his first coaching job with Juventus Turin. Since this season, he has been coaching Turkish first division club Fatih Karagümrük SK. His annual salary there is said to be 1.8 million euros.
